Q: What HW/SW resources do I need?
A: None
Q: How long does it take?
A: Less than 1 hour to start and be trained.
Q: What about data privacy?

Q: What asset information is being collected and stored?

Q: How can I restrict access to systems?
A: You can control access to functions such as remote tools, remote control, software delivery and patch distribution using rights (scope) and roles. (Read the full KB article)
Q: What security measures/precautions do you take?
A: Many technologies, policies, and procedures are in place including SSL communications, redundant fire suppression/power sources, hardware, back-up..., 128 AES encryption, card-key access only, and more. (Read the full KB article)
Q: Does your tool automatically install itsell on everything?
A: No. You control the deployment/installation of the MicroAgent. The discovery only scans, while deployment is where you choose which systems to install the MicroAgent on.
Q: Can I run the trial on more than one system?
A: Yes, we encourage you to trial on multiple systems including mobile laptops, SOHO systems, and systems on your corporate network. Simply use the Network Discovery Wizard to find/target systems you want to include in your trial. For more information see the Eval Guide Video.
Q: If our data is in your NOC can other people access our data?
A: Someone has to have a TSM account to get access and you control the creation of accounts.
Q: Who do we have to share the data with (as part of SAM Assist)?
A: You create an account for your SAM Assist consultant. They will access the data and work with you on the Gap report, which you then provide to Microsoft.
Q: Can I buy the product?
A: Yes! We want/hope you will buy it, hence the special offer. AMS gives you visibility and will save you time/money.
Q: Can I buy the product before deciding to engage in a SAM Assist?
A: Yes, certainly, but not at the SAM Assist special offer price. You must pay full retail price. You will then be credited the difference between full retail and the special offer when you complete a SAM Assist engagement. Our revenue recognition rules require that you complete the SAM Assist engagement within 90 days of your purchase to qualify for the special offer.
Q: What happens after 45-days?
A: If you don't purchase, the portal is locked down, the MicroAgent uninstalled, and the data is destroyed.
Q: How big is the MicroAgent?
A: The MicroAgent uses approximately 200K of RAM memory when running and 20MB of disk space, runs as a background service on a machine, and loads and unloads processes as needed for scanning, software delivery, remote control, etc.
Q: Has the MicroAgent ever brought a system down?
A: No recorded incident. There is no kernel code.
Q: Can TriActive co-exist with SMS?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you have a zero footprint option?
A: Yes. The process to install/uninstall the MicroAgent and preserve the data in the database, which can either be left in the database, or exported via a PDF.
How much Bandwidth does the deployment utilize?
A. You control the MicroAgent deployment. TriActive utilizes file caching during the deployment which means target endpoints are not downloading all the files directly from the Internet, but rather from a local file source (delegate MicroAgent) on your local network.
Q: Does the MicroAgent do a full filesystem scan?
A: No. It looks at specific locations, such as MSI database, add/remove programs, and registry.
