Troubleshooting

This topic provides information to assist you in resolving the following issues:

Resolving Display Issues with Microsoft Internet Explorer

If you access Systems Manager with Microsoft Internet Explorer and encounter display issues, follow these steps to select the ideal settings for your browser:

  1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools menu and choose Internet Options to display the General tab.
  3. In the Temporary Internet files section (IE6) or Browsing History section (IE7), click the Settings button to display the Settings page.
  4. In the Check for newer versions of stored pages section, select Automatically.
  5. Click OK to close the Settings page.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet Options page.

Finding Missing Assets

If you are missing assets to which you recently deployed MicroAgents, it is likely that the MicroAgent configuration did not have enough time to complete. To resolve this issue, turn each system on for 10-20 minutes to allow the MicroAgent configuration to complete. After the configuration process completes, the assets display in the System Names report on the Assets tab. If the asset does not display even after 20 minutes, deploy the MicroAgent to the system again and leave the system on for 10-20 minutes.

Resolving a Credentials Error

If you encounter a credentials error, such as "Error impersonating user x," when distributing packages, you must reset the credentials for the endpoint or for the namespace. It is common to encounter this type of credentials error if the domain account password changes.

Follow these steps to reset the credentials for the namespace:

  1. Click the Admin tab.
  2. Click the Discovery subtab.

The Configure Namespaces page displays by default.
  3. Click the credentials link or the Set Credentials link to display the Edit Namespace page, on which you can reset the credentials for the namespace.

All endpoints inherit the credentials change.

Follow these steps to reset the credentials for the endpoint:

  1. Click the Admin tab.
  2. Click the Deployment subtab.
  3. Point to the Deployment menu and choose Discovered Endpoints to display the Discovered Endpoints page.
  4. Click the credentials link or the Set Credentials link to display the Credentials page, on which you can reset the credentials for the endpoint.
