Using the Community

The Community tab allows you to access a collection of knowledge posted by Systems Manager users and monitored by Systems Manager staff. By establishing this method for sharing information, we provide a way for you to increase your efficiency by obtaining shared information from other Systems Manager users.

You can complete the following tasks on the Community tab:

After you import a report or file package into your company, you can then edit the report or edit the package

In addition, the import menus on the Community page allow you to import Help Desk settings and company settings from your default company.

Importing Help Desk Settings

You can import the following Help Desk settings from your default company:

 

Follow these steps to import a single Help Desk setting into your company:

  1. Click the Community tab.
  2. Point to the Import Help Desk Settings menu and choose the setting you want to import.

Systems Manager imports the Help Desk setting into your company from the default company.

 

Follow these steps to import all Help Desk settings into your company:

  1. Click the Community tab.
  2. Locate the Help Desk Settings item in the list.
  3. Click the import button Import Button to import all Help Desk settings from the default company.

Note: This action overrides any existing settings.

Importing Company Settings

You can import the following company settings from your default company:

Follow these steps to import a single company setting into your company:

  1. Click the Community tab.
  2. Point to the Import Company Settings menu and choose the setting you want to import.

Systems Manager imports the company setting into your company from the default company.

Follow these steps to import all company settings into your company:

  1. Click the Community tab.
  2. Locate the company settings item in the list.
  3. Click the import button Import Button to import all company settings from the default company.

Viewing File Packages & Custom Reports

To view file packages and reports on the Community tab, click the Community tab. The page includes a complete list of all packages and reports available to you.

Importing File Packages

Follow these steps to import a file package from the Community tab:

  1. Click the Community tab to display the community page.
  2. Click the file package's import button Import Button to display the package page.
  3. Enter a name and version for the package.
  4. Click Save to display the package view.

After you import a file package into your company, you can then edit the package.

Importing Reports

Follow these steps to import a report from the Community tab:

  1. Click the Community tab to display the community page.
  2. Click the report's import button Import Button to display the Import Report page.
  3. Follow the Importing Reports instructions.

After you import a report into your company, you can then edit the report.

Community Statistics

The Community Statistics page provides benchmark information on all companies using Systems Manager. You can view the statistics on a variety of topics to see how your company compares with others like yours. 

 

Follow these steps to view the Community Statistics page:

  1. Click the Community tab.
  2. Point to the Community Statistics menu and choose Community Statistics to display the Community Statistics page.
