KB_101: FAQ: How can I restrict remote access to systems?

Question:  How can I restrict remote access to systsems?

Answer:  You can control access to functions such as remote tools, remote control, software delivery and patch distribution using roles in TriActive and by activating impersonation in the MicroAgent.

Go to Admin > General > Specialist > Roles to create roles that restrict access to functions within the portal. For example, you can ceate a role that restricts a specialist's access to patch, distribution, remote tools and/or capabilities within those functions (tabs).

Go to Admin > Microagent > Impersonation to activate the MicroAgent to impersonate IT specialists against a Microsoft domain for an added level of security. When activated the MicroAgent will use the identity of the specialist for remote tools or remote control and will be denied access unless they have domain access to the system. The specialist can have access to the functions in the portal, but may not access to the system.

If you have a Microsoft domain in your network, it is suggested that you activate this feature.
