KB_100: FAQ:What asset information is being collected and stored?

Question: What asset information is being collected and stored?

Answer: The following asset information is being collected by the MicroAgent(r) and stored in the inventory database:

computer name and user
physical hardware and serial number
network device, address and namespace
installed software title and manufacturer
installed Microsoft patches
installed anti-virus software and signature date
software usage information

For a detailed list go to the Asset System Inventory view (on the Assets tab).

Company data is not stored in shared database tables, the data is stored in individual database schemas to keep it separate, which is a requirement for SAS70 compliance.

Scans are executed once a week or on demand by selecting the asset and using the 'scan selected systems' button.
